Hello everyone! DID is here.
If you’ve watched my recent Farming Simulator 25 gameplay videos, you probably noticed that the visuals in my game look much richer, more vibrant, and realistic compared to the base version. Recently, there’s been a lot of hype around the “magical” DLSS 5.0 technology, which allegedly turns any game into a cinematic masterpiece.
In this guide, I’ll show you step-by-step how to set up “DID-style” graphics using ReShade and a custom color correction preset, as well as how to properly install and enable DLSS 5.0 if you want to test this new feature on your PC.
Important Note Regarding Graphics Cards: According to the DLSS 5.0 download page, this technology is designed for NVIDIA RTX 40 and 50 series graphics cards.
Part 1. Installing ReShade and a Custom Color Correction Preset
To get rich color tones and lighting just like in my playthroughs, we first need to prepare the base setup.
Step 1. The “Additional Game Settings” Mod
To start, we need the Additional Game Settings mod. It unlocks access to hidden game options.
You can download the mod via the in-game mod manager:
or via the direct link and place the file into your mods folder (check out our guide on how to install mods manually).
Download Additional Game Settings
Step 2. Downloading and Installing ReShade
- Go to the official ReShade website.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and make sure to select the second button: Download ReShade 6.8.0 with full add-on support (Full Add-on support is mandatory if you plan to install DLSS 5.0 later).
- Run the downloaded installer, find and select
Farming Simulator 25from the application list (select the actual game executable, not the launcher). - In the next window, choose DirectX 10/11/12.
- Click Next until the installation is complete — no additional checkboxes need to be changed.

Step 3. Copying the Preset File
- Download the color correction preset archive. You can find various shader presets on Farming Simulator community sites, or install the one I use: Realistic Shader V1.0.0.0 / MIKI Shader v4.
- Unpack the archive. You only need one file with the
.iniextension (MIKI_SHADER_4.ini). - Copy this file directly into your game’s root directory (where the game itself is installed, NOT the mods folder).Example:
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Farming Simulator 25.

Step 4. In-Game Configuration
- Launch the game and load your savegame.
- Open the game settings and go to the Additional Game Settings section.
- Find the CUSTOM LIGHTING option and set it to Riverbend Springs.

- Return to the active gameplay screen.
- Press the HOME key on your keyboard to open the ReShade overlay.
- In the first tab (HOME), make sure the top path points to your
Farming Simulator 25folder, and select your.inipreset file from the drop-down list. - If you want to replicate my exact look, adjust the values at the bottom of the ReShade window as shown in the screenshot below.

Part 2. Installing and Enabling DLSS 5.0
If you want to test out the new DLSS 5.0 technology, follow these steps:
Step 1. Copying DLSS 5.0 Files
- Make sure you installed ReShade with Full Add-on Support (Step 2 from Part 1).
- Download the DLSS 5.0 archive and unpack it.
- Inside, you will find two files:
nvngx_dlssnr.dllandrenodx-dlss5.addon64. - Copy both files into the
x64folder inside your game directory:C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Farming Simulator 25\x64(or your custom game installation path).
Step 2. In-Game Graphics Settings
- Launch the game and open the Graphics Settings.
- In the upscaling/DLSS options, select DLSS “Balanced Performance” or DLAA (choose whichever runs better on your rig).Attention: If you leave it on DLSS Quality or any other mode, DLSS 5.0 will not work.
- If your PC supports Frame Generation, turn it on (I set mine to 2x).
- Graphics Tip: It’s best to set Distant Shadows to “Medium” or “Low”, and slightly reduce Object and Terrain Level of Detail (LOD) to save FPS.
Step 3. Activating in ReShade
- While in-game, press the HOME key.
- Switch to the Add-ons tab.
- Check the box next to DLSS 5.0.
You can quickly toggle the DLSS 5.0 effect on and off while playing using the F6 hotkey (only works when the ReShade menu is closed).
Conclusion: Is DLSS 5.0 Worth It?
After testing DLSS 5.0 on my setup (RTX 5060 8GB GPU), here is my breakdown:
- Visuals: There is a noticeable difference in lighting, shadows, grass detail, and overall texture depth. Characters and equipment look more 3D. However, don’t expect a mind-blowing cinematic revolution on the farm — this isn’t Cyberpunk with neon-lit streets.
- Performance: DLSS 5.0 takes a heavy toll on system resources. In my case, I saw a performance drop of around 20–30 FPS.
- Temperatures: GPU load increases significantly — my graphics card temperatures jumped by nearly 20°C (from 52°C up to 70°C), and the system fans started spinning at full speed.
My Verdict: For daily gameplay, my tweaked ReShade preset (from Part 1) without DLSS 5 is more than enough for me. It delivers great, vibrant visuals without losing frames or overheating the GPU. DLSS 5.0 is fun to experiment with or use for capturing cool cinematic shots, but running it constantly on mid-range PCs might be tough.
